As a mother of two, I am always trying to come up with interesting and new ways to entertain my kids. Baking and art projects seem to be the two things that we always end up going back to. A few years back we went to a gingerbread party in New York. My kids had the best time decorating the house with the frosting and the candy. When I started to help them with the roof, they asked me to stop because they were having a great time and I was actually taking over. Typical mother I guess. I did realize how much fun it was though. We took the houses home and admired them for a few days and eventually threw the houses away since none of us ate gingerbread. The experience never left any of us and I knew I had fallen into something terrific.

I knew that if my kids loved to do this, so would all the other kids who lived in Southern California. I thought this would be a great idea to do for birthday parties but do it a little differently. My way, that is. With all different flavors (Chocolate Chip, Vanilla, Chocolate and Gingerbread if you did like that) so the kids would want to eat the houses after they decorated them. They would be able to decorate them as an activity, then eat them for dessert. Over the last 2 years I found the perfect bakers, and the timing was right. The taste of the cookies, coupled with the kids who love to design their own cookie house, makes a perfect combination.

We bake it, you decorate it.
